Muirhouses is the ideal centre in an area rich in scenery & history.

The picturesque village of Glamis,a few miles away boasts not only the magnificent Glamis Castle(home of the late Queen Mother) but also the Angus folk museum-a living museum of country life in this part of Scotland.

Kirriemuir. - 'The Little Red Town'. named because of the red
sandstone used to build most of the houses in the town.

The most famous son of Kirriernuir is undoubtedly J. M. Barrie
creator of Peter Pan and inspiration for the film 'Neverland'.

It is also home to one of the few Camera Obscuras in the country.

The Airlie Monument sits high on Tulloch hill with a new network of pathways around and leading to this landmark.

More excellent walks can be found further up Glen Clova and into Glen Doll with stunning scenery all around.
Angus is a beautiful part of Scotland with everything you could ever wish for right on our doorstep
